Farm Fresh

Party of five—with Kilwin the golden making an official six! 🐾 Just a hop, skip and a jump from our studio we had the pleasure of partnering with this lovely family to create their perfect home in Decatur. Indeed, it’s definitely a project we are proud to crow about. 😆 Staying true to our mantra of creating spaces where families’ lives unfold, we designed this intown farmhouse to be chock-full of functional, family friendly spaces. Spoiler alert!-– don’t miss this Summer’s issue of Atlanta Magazine’s Home, which features an incredible story about this new house.   Here’s a few extra behind the scenes images!

This abode has a ton of dreamy natural light streaming through the transoms into plenty of inviting spaces for entertaining, cooking, playing, or just relaxing on the wrap around porch. Come on in…

Circa 2018. Newly established, this kitchen is ready for decades of sharing family recipes. The soapstone counters will patina throughout the years, as memories are captured in the heart of the home. An antique Persian (very forgiving rugs for a kitchen) was selected locally from Sharian, to whisk in a collage of color and tradition.

Sunny side up. The breakfast nook is like Saturday morning every day of the week. Who could resist not having at  least one cup of Joe here before the busy-ness sets in…there’s just something fun about a custom bench in a niche of windows.

Look closer…the salvaged brackets were scored at the Scott Antiques Market and add a dose of authentic charm to the bench.

The butler’s pantry is historically defined as a small service room situated between the kitchen and dining. Small? Not so much in this house… we included huge amounts of storage and functional tools (steam oven and hidden warming drawer ) for a lot of  dinner partying. Yes please. There’s more.

A pantry in a pantry. Another find at Scott Antiques, these vintage side lights from a salvaged entry doorway were transformed into pantry doors. Originally having several layers of dark green peeling paint, they were stripped to the beautiful natural wood and hung with barn door hardware. Wait for it.

Everything you need, might need, organized and styled by the homeowner. 👩‍🌾

The swoon worthy mudroom, features a handsome built-in, equipped with enough hooks and cubbies to organize backpacks, boots, coats, leashes and and all the other gear for a family to grab and go.  The herringbone brick tile floor is not only gorgeous, but it also provides a cool place for Kilwin to nap. The soldier-course border is Nicole’s favorite detail…in her words, “it’s a design must that totally elevates the charm of the space.” 🙌

A quick look at the powder room before we go upstairs. We’re in love with this wallpaper from Serena and Lily…

Upstairs bedrooms…Color palettes and furnishings were selected to reflect the sweet personalities of each family member. Totes Adorbs!  The antique sideboard (above) is a family heirloom and made for the perfect changing table nestled in the Jack and Jill passthrough connecting the two girls’ rooms.

Speaking of Totes Adorbs, check out the laundry room. ❤️ Strategically positioned at the center of the second floor and completely tricked out for incoming laundry.  A tight ship.

The back porch is equally charming and yet another place to host an outdoor supper.

Many thanks to the Stevenson’s for partnering with us on this amazing project that we are so proud of, also a big shout out to Jeff Herr and Katelyn for all the fabulous captures.

Love Life at Home.
