Temperatures are finally starting to drop and feel like Fall here in Atlanta, but if you’re in the mood for something balmier, we recommend a trip to 30A to visit our condo at Azul. Owned and operated by Ili Hidalgo-Nilsson, Azul has been beautifully renovated with a fresh, beach-y vibe (naturally) and was a fun project start to finish. For the uninitiated, 30A refers to Florida’s Scenic Highway 30-A, and the super charming beach towns it follows along the coast, including Seaside, Rosemary Beach, and Alys Beach. The beaches are gorgeous and the towns are lovely and contain some unique and beautiful examples of New Urbanism, with Azul right in the middle of it all.
As you first enter the space, you’re greeted by homey, nautical details like shiplap-covered walls and boat cleat-inspired hooks to hold your favorite beach bag. A set of bunk beds nestle into a cozy nook in the hallway, a creative solution to sleep kids or groups of friends. The serene master bedroom offers a welcome respite from reality with plush ticking stripe linens and natural, woven accents. Fresh color and simple amenities create welcoming vibes in the bath. (Plus, that first aid kit is pretty much the cutest thing to ever grace a bathroom wall.) The rest of the condo is one large bright and open space that includes a full kitchen, dining area, and living room. Nautical stripes and oceanic blues reference the stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico right outside the living room windows. The sofa is both slipcovered and a sleeper (genius!), so feel free to prop up your sandy feet and stay awhile!
And then, of course, the real reason we all migrate south … look at that view!
Thanks for sharing, Ili! We can’t wait to book our stay.
Hi there. Can you share where the mirrors over the sofa are from? Can’t get them off of my mind! Thanks 🙂
